My heart...

I am in love with this girl and i wish i knew how to take magical pictures...

My first tomato!!!

So I know it is really late to be getting my first tomato... it is the first of September.
But my tomato (which I don't even like tomatoes really) called for a celebration- which was really just a happy dance, a whoo hooo and some delicious pasta. (no, i didn't use john's peppers...)

Toddler Heaven...

So our friend Alie introduced us to Pump it Up!
It is our new favorite place to go; I am waiting for Friday.
For 5 dollars your toddler can play for 2 hours in a any sort of
jumpy air slide maze they want. We love it, I want one.
When Pinkie's cousin Brooke came into town
we took her to Heaven (aka Pump it Up!) for some fun.
Lucky for us, Alie and the Lady came too (and Lady was lovin me and I was lovin it)!

Fly Fishin' Women

Today, we braved it. Pinkie and I went along as John fly fished on the Sandy River in Troutdale, Oregon. But all Pink really wanted to do was rifle through my purse and throw precious things (like a PALM!) into the river...
We dug in the sand (avoiding cigarette butts and the funky smelling bushes).
Could people please stop littering???
Our Man fishin'
So to sum up the day...
don't take a 15 month old to the river unless you want to get wet,
lose stuff and constantly say 'no, rocks are not food'.

Chronicles of Independence...

Pinkie is learning to feed herself- she'll need to know this for school soon. On a suprising note, our notoriously picky eater ate all the black beans out of this mexican rice.
Crazy, I know. Pinkie is a mommy now- she has one NaNa (the lamb on the right) then she has a bear Baby and a doll Baby. It is very hard for her to figure out which one she wants. She often tries to carry all three around and that never works out...
Nothing big is really happening around this house lately. I'm in school everyday, John's working everyday and Pinkie is shuttled to family for babysitting (thanks Heavens for them). We all have a week off before student teaching begins for me and no real plans except to soak up the sun.

on to Harvard...

We've chosen Pinkie's new school. After months of procrastination (the emotionally catastrophic event of mommyhood) we buckled down and enrolled Pinkie at The Goddard School. Hopefully, this being the rumored most awesome heaven on earth learn 10 languages while being nurtured home away from home will be wonderful for our girl and worth eating pb&j (or top ramen) for the next year $$$$$. It will all be ok, right? right?

NaaNaa...

I am no longer the most important thing in the world. "Naaa Naaa" is a little lamb Pinkie has become attached to. Poetically perhaps, this lamb was my favorite toy as a little girl. However, the world comes crashing down when we can't find her or have to wash her. This lamb is just disgusting after she drags it around the backyard, the grocery store, throws it into the dirt. What will we do when she gets lost for good or gets worn out?

Getting to know Hillsboro...

We've lived in Hillsboro, Oregon for 2+ years and never really checked out the town. The summer seems to have made Hillsboro more awesome. We've gone to the dog park, the kiddie park, the concert in the park and now the fountain park. It was late Saturday, but we decided to take a walk in downtown Hillsboro (where the Hillsboro Festival is going on). Pinkie was magnetically, uncontrollably drawn to the fountain. Funny enough when she stuck her hand in the spray, it sprayed all over John and he got soaked. I took pictures from a safe, dry location. I try not to brag, but my Pinkie is incredibly cute!
just a mommy's opinion...
